Construction Tech Academy grew from acollaboration between industry and education, to meet an industry need. Construction Tech Academy opened in 2002 as the first small school within a larger high school. In the 2004-2005 school year, Kearny High was redesigned into four independent high schools modeled after the CTA program.

CTA is now an autonomous school in it’s sixth year with 475 students.

Construction Tech Academy combines a rigorous learning environment, with technical and industry projects for students interested in architecture, engineering or the construction trades. Upon graduation students are prepared for college,

apprenticeship programs or a job in industry.
